The blade shaft passes through the bottom of the jar. It runs in a brass or bronze bush (or a small bearing), sealed by a rubber washer. Under the jar, a coupler connects the shaft to the motor. With frequent wet grinding of batter, chutney and masala, the washer hardens and the bush wears, and liquid finds its way along the shaft.

How the Repair Works, Step by Step
- The blade assembly is removed from the jar base.
- The worn bush or bearing and the rubber washer are replaced, or the whole blade assembly if the shaft is worn.
- The coupler under the jar is checked and replaced if its teeth are worn.
- The jar is tested with water at full speed to confirm there is no leak.
How to Make Jars Last Longer
- Do not overfill: stay below the maximum line, especially with liquids.
- Do not soak the jar base in water when washing; rinse and dry it upright.
- Run in short pulses for hard ingredients rather than long continuous runs.
- Stop using a leaking jar immediately to protect the motor.
